Bitcoin Meteorite Canvas Edition (2019)
Bitcoin Meteorite was created in 2019 and was my first artwork featuring dinosaurs, a theme that would later become a recurring part of my work.
The image is a Bitcoin meme about bankers as dinosaurs, dressed in suits and the trappings of the financial establishment, unaware of the Bitcoin meteorite heading their way. The meteorite burns with a digital, pixelated glow, bringing an ancient world face to face with a new one.
The original edition of 42 screen prints on paper sold out years ago. During the printing process, I also made three prints on canvas, using the same nine-color process.
These are the only three Bitcoin Meteorite canvases in existence, and the only screen prints on canvas ever produced under CypherpunkNow.
Each was printed by hand, one color at a time. Although they share the same image, small differences in ink and registration make each one unique.
The three canvases have remained in my collection since 2019.
The CypherpunkNow signature was screen-printed directly into the artwork in 2019, at a time when I was still hand-signing my prints as Fischer. The three canvases remained unsigned and unnumbered until 2026, when I signed and numbered them CypherpunkNow on the reverse. The original printed surfaces remain untouched.
