Hand-blown crystal glass — 2025

About To Pop

Bitcoin is not the bubble. Bitcoin is the pin.

About To Pop transforms a familiar Bitcoin meme into a hand-blown crystal object. The bubble represents the fragility of the traditional financial system — fiat currencies, overleveraged banks, government debt and inflationary monetary policy. With its decentralized structure and fixed supply, bitcoin enters this system as a force capable of puncturing the bubble.

After years of working with screen printing and Bitcoin propaganda, I wanted to move into a new medium. I chose glass, which I consider one of the most beautiful crafts. I approached glassmaker Pavel Vajsejtl with the design, and we spent the winter working by the glass furnace. After several early setbacks, we succeeded in creating the object exactly as I had imagined it: a crystal Bitcoin meme combining the energy of revolution, mystery and fragility.

Bitcoin Pin is made in a Czech glassworks using traditional glassmaking techniques. To the best of my knowledge, it is the first hand-blown glass artwork in the history of Bitcoin art. It was first exhibited and offered at auction at the B25 Art Show during the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas. The exhibited series of three pieces was subsequently acquired for the collection of the Bitcoin Art Museum in Nashville.

The series remains open and further pieces can be reserved. Each Bitcoin Pin is an original handmade object, individually numbered and signed, with a digital certificate of authenticity recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain.

Open series, currently 3 pieces; hand-blown crystal glass; Bitcoin Pin #1: 36.8 × 29 × 26.9 cm, Bitcoin Pin #2: 45 × 32.8 × 32 cm, Bitcoin Pin #3: 20.8 × 17.8 × 17.8 cm; 2025; numbered and signed; digital certificate of authenticity on the Bitcoin blockchainAbout To Pop project website ↗
